The Snail Grow a Garden is a Legendary pet from the Animal Update with the Sticky Trail ability — a permanent passive that gives every harvested plant an additional 5.08% chance to drop its seed. It hatches from the Bug Egg at 30% (or Exotic Bug Egg at 40%), has 12,000 hunger, and stacks with multiple Snails equipped simultaneously — making it the best seed farming pet in the game for players building a self-sustaining garden.

Snail — Legendary Animal Update pet with Sticky Trail passive. Adds 5.08% seed drop chance on every harvest, stacks with multiple Snails.
A fully passive ability — no cooldown, no trigger, always active.
Unlike most pet abilities that fire on a timer, Sticky Trail is permanently on. Every single harvest triggers the 5.08% roll — no cooldown, no waiting, no interaction needed.
Event seeds are excluded from the seed drop bonus — Snail cannot generate event-exclusive seeds. Rarer plants also have a lower success rate — the 5.08% applies at full rate only to common and uncommon crops.
Two egg types — both with strong hatch odds.
| Egg | Hatch Rate | Cost | Shop Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bug Egg | 30% | 50,000,000 Sheckles / 199 Robux | ~7% of shop cycles |
| Exotic Bug Egg | 40% | Robux / Event | Event-limited |
The Bug Egg also contains the Dragonfly (1% Divine) and Butterfly (1% Mythical). At 30%, Snail is statistically the most likely Legendary from the Bug Egg pool. Players who buy Bug Eggs for the Dragonfly should expect to hatch multiple Snails along the way — saving those for a stacked seed farming build is efficient use of the duplicates.
How passive seed recovery compares to buying seeds directly.
5.08% per harvest, free, permanent. No Sheckle cost per seed recovered. Scales with number of Snails and harvest frequency. Best for players who harvest hundreds of crops per session.
Guaranteed seeds at fixed Sheckle cost. No RNG. Faster for players who need specific seeds immediately. Better for rare or event seeds that Snail cannot recover.
10.16% seed drop rate per harvest. In a 200-harvest session, approximately 20 free seeds. At Legendary Egg prices, each recovered seed is essentially free income from the Bug Egg investment.
Run Snails during active farming sessions with high-harvest regrow crops. Buy event seeds and rare seeds from the shop. Let Snail handle common and uncommon seed recovery passively.

The Snail was downgraded in rarity — here is what changed and what stayed the same.
The Snail was originally released as a Mythical pet in the Animal Update (May 3, 2025). In Update 1.14.0, its rarity was downgraded from Mythical to Legendary. This change affected its trade value and how it appears in tier lists — but the Sticky Trail ability itself was not changed. The 5.08% seed drop rate, the exclusion of event seeds, and the lower rate for rarer plants all remained identical before and after the downgrade.
Players who hatched the Snail as Mythical before the update retained their existing pets at the same ability stats. The practical gameplay impact of the rarity downgrade was minimal — the Snail performs the same way regardless of its rarity label. The downgrade did make it easier for new players to prioritize buying Bug Eggs without feeling they were chasing an unreachable Mythical tier pet. At 30% Bug Egg rate, the Snail is now one of the most straightforward Legendary pets to obtain consistently.

Crop selection determines how much value the Sticky Trail ability generates.
Regrow crops are the strongest choice for maximizing the Snail's output. Crops like Starfruit, Moonflower, Moonglow, and Mint harvest repeatedly without requiring replanting — each harvest cycle triggers the 5.08% seed drop roll again. In a 4-hour farming session with regrow crops, a single Snail generates far more seed recovery attempts than a session focused on one-time crops that must be replanted manually.
High-value common and uncommon crops provide the best seed recovery value — their seeds drop at the full 5.08% rate (not the reduced rate applied to rarer plants) and their seeds are still worth meaningful Sheckles when sold or replanted. Mixing regrow crops with a Snail build creates a partially automated farming loop where the garden partially seeds itself each session. For a full breakdown of which crops give the best Sheckle return per seed, use our seed profit calculator.
The Snail's 30% Bug Egg hatch rate means players who farm Bug Eggs for the Dragonfly accumulate multiple Snails quickly. Whether to keep extras or trade them depends on your farming goals. For seed-focused builds, three Snails stacked is the ideal configuration — selling duplicates beyond three is reasonable. For mutation-focused builds where pet slots go to Dragonfly, Disco Bee, or Space Squirrel, extra Snails are best traded or sold.
Trade value for Snail is modest relative to its Bug Egg pool companions — significantly lower than the Dragonfly (Divine, 1%) but consistently in demand from players building seed-farming setups. A Titanic or Godly-weight Snail trades for meaningfully more than a base-weight one. For current pricing, check community trading channels or check community trading channels before any offers.
